Re: Violetta

Hmm. Violetta is too much. Maybe on a really romantic character but for a person I just think it's too frilly. I like Violet.Much prefer Violet. It's certainly popular and I'm aware of that but at the same time I don't think I've actually ever met a Violet. Granted, I haven't had much contact with kids recently, but whatever. I've tried to make myself like Viola but I just can't do it. The Shakespeare connection is great (and I loved the character) but at the end of the day I just don't like it. VY-o-la is how I pronounce it. Violet
the other two.
I pronounce it VY-OH-let-ta. So similar to how you say it when you say it quickly. But I think you have a French background (I could totally be wrong about that) so I understand you may pronounce things a little differently than an American? I'm not sure. I can't remember anyone's background here :P I have that problem in that I adore the name Genevieve--especially pronounced the French way. But that just would never fly here. Accent or not. :(
