Diane or Diana?
Do you prefer Diane or Diana? Diana sounds more modern, I guess, but I think it's the one which will sound more dated soon as the 'names ending in -a' trend goes by. I'm pretty sure the -e ending versions will be more fashionable in a few years or a decade. Eve instead of Eva, Adrienne instead of Adriana and so on.
Diane was overused in the 50s but I think it could make a comeback. It sounds softer than Diana and more friendly which I like. But I really like Diana too.

my mum is called "Diane" so I guess I like that best.
I feel the opposite way; I think Diane sounds more modern and Diana sounds more classical. I guess that there is a trend for -a endings, but there is one for -e endings too: Madeleine, Charlotte, Natalie. Sophia and Amelia are both popular, but so are Sophie and Amelie. Caroline's more popular than Carolina; Melanie's more popular than Melania. Still, though, I get what you're saying. But I feel like Diana's unpopularity will cancel out the trendiness of the -a ending. Diana is, in itself, untrendy.
I sure do prefer Eve over Eva, though. But mostly I prefer the -a endings: Anna, Julia, Eliza (over Elise), Louisa.

Diana. Feels so much fresher to me.
I always prefer -ana/-anna names. They're very pleasing to my ear. Diana.
My mother is Diane so I think that makes me a little biased. She despises the name, though, and goes by Dani. I think I prefer Diana a bit more because it sounds warmer and I love -ana- -anna- names.
However, I sincerely hope -e ending does not take over. I really dislike it and much, much, much prefer -a. And I never care about what's fashionable anyway. I just like what I like, trends be damned.
