I have always liked Rowan (m). I'm so accustomed to thinking of it as masculine, that it seems mannish on girls to me. I guess I will probably encounter female Rowans around and get used to it, but it doesn't feel different from having to get used to female Ryans.Rowan and Xanthe go together well IMO.
Rowan Matthias is good, but I'm not a fan of Rowan Felix. It's vaguely phrasey ... certain middle names bring out the potential of Rowan to sound like "row, and."
