I also prefer the ad-ree-AN-a pronunciation. Nickname her Adri. But, unfortunately, I think that most English speakers would pronounce it ayd-, which is a shame. I wouldn't want to put my daughter through that, the constant correcting.
You know what I like? Adrienna. It occured to me as a hypothetical name, and so I googled it... and it surely exists. It might be a little easier to enforce the ad-ree pronunciation with this one. Or maybe not... I can't say I'd be surprised if people still said ayd-ree-. Darn English language!
