It's a beautiful name. I would have considered it for my daughter, if it didn't end in"a", which wouldn't go well with our last name. I went to school with 2 girls named Virginia, one always used her full name, one was called Ginger. Teasing is sometimes mentioned, but I think the potential is overrated. The pronounciation isn't VIRGIN-e-ah.
And after all,at an age when children might be teased about their names, a reference to being a virgin isn't what might come to mind.Little kids tend to go for bathroom references. As a middle name, as well as a first, it's good. Alice Virginia is fine.
