Just about anything goes for a nn, and Nica and Nicci for Veronica aren't that much of a stretch. They both work. I used to dislike Veronica, finding it sharp edged and maybe a little cold. I've warmed up to it a lot over the past year or so, and I can appreciate it now. Not many names manage to be so long, feminine, and low frill. In general, I think it's a good name, not one I'd use myself, but one I'd be happy to see.

Sharp edged and cold ... I know what you mean. For the longest time, I've loved soft, pretty and ultra feminine names. I still love them yet I've been more drawn lately to feminine names which are more handsome and exude strength: Theodora, Veronica, Miriam, Madeleine, Eleanor, etc.
