LL = J.
when taught in school...
In America, teachers tell us to pronounce the double 'L' (ll - ay-yay) as a 'y' sound. We generally taught Spain's version of Spanish (I don't know if this changes anything) but I have a lot of Mexican friends and they pronounce the double 'L' as a 'y' as well
ex:
llama = ya-mah
"Chan eil tuil air nach tig traoghadh"
"Maybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Oh I miss you, you know"

I've heard that it can actually be pronounced in a few different ways, like j, a soft g, sh/ch, y, or as an ly, but usually as a y/ee/i sound. Like in tortilla.
