Emil
I've started to appreciate Emil now. Before I thought it was really slimy, but now I have rather taken to it suddenly. What is your opinion of Emil?

I like it and actually find it quite handsome.
It's an okay name.
Slimy?? No! I love Emil. Have for ages, but hadn't thought about him recently. Thank you for reminding me of you dashing he is.
I love Emil! It's stately and European.
I like it.
An old Swedish classic that's still popular. I hear about little boys named Emil pretty often. I also think of "Emil i Lönneberga" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emil_i_Lönneberga) so Emil has a young and mischievous feeling to me.

It's reasonably common where I live.Used either on its' own, or as combined name, usually Paul-Emil.
I really like it, and have for a long time so I'm a bit sentimental about it. I discovered it when I was 11-12 and thought it was pronounced like Emily but without the ee, and I used it in several stories I wrote. Years later when I found out it was em-EEL, I wasn't so sure because I really liked my pronunciation better! But I have been told there are a few languages that do pronounce it the way I had been, so that makes me feel better. :)
My grandfather's name was Paul Emile. I prefer how it sounds in french. I like how it's uncommon and not everyone has heard of it. I like the name, and I've considered using it as a middle name.
