I like Sage on both genders and think it's fair game for either (being a nature, word name). I do slightly prefer it on a boy, I think cause the sound is quite strong. But I ilk it for both. And I think of a wise sage first, before anything else, and thats a good association.

It doesn't feel trendy to me, but I see ow it could to others. Definitely not popular though. I've never met or heard of one IRL.
