Re: Clementine

It seems to be Hollywood tryndee right now. I can't picture it on a real person at all. A Muppet yes, like Forgetful Jones's wife Clementine on Sesame Street, always going "Furr-GIT-Full!" when he forgot something.
And there is that song about my darling Clementine, lost and gone forever. Which is a stupid song: "Ruby lips above the water, blowing bubbles soft and fine." Like if you have your lips above the water how are you blowing bubbles?

I think her mouth is like close to the water and she's trying to breathe and sometimes succeeding and other times not. It's iiiccckkkkkkyyyyyy

And wore herring boxes without topses for shoes. They probably tripped her up and dumped her in the drink when she was leading ducklings to the water.

"and her shoes were number 9".I think that used to be considered really big, but not now, lots of people wear 9's.
Not me, I wear 7's, as do many people, so you don't find as many on sale.

I think Clementine is beautiful. Yeah, it's popping up more and more but since it hasn't charted in the US since 1953 it's not too popular for me.

There used to be a song celebrating the regions of Canada..one bit went"I have walked on the sand of the Grand Banks of Newfoundland"-you'd have to be wearing diving gear, as the Grand Banks are at the bottom of the ocean. A notable fishing area.
It did rhyme well, though!

"the Night Chicago Died"
Has a line about "Daddy was a cop on the East Side of Chicago." Well, if you aren't familiar with Chicago this isn't a problem. But I found out from somebody that used to live there that there isn't any East Side of Chicago, just a big lake. So Daddy would also have to have scuba gear to go on patrol.

Could be in a motorboat patrolling the other boats on the lake... However, whatever happened to be closest to the lake could be considered the east side, could it not? At least on the grounds of being further east than the rest of the city? ... even if it's not classified as a region officially.

Also...
Kind of like like Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" which says, "born and raised in South Detroit" when Detroit is only recognized as being split into East and West.
