As RoxStar said, they do have a 1950s rural America feel to them.
That's probably why I like them. Personally, I don't love giving (what I consider) nicknames as first names, though I'd rather it be done instead of giving a name solely to use the nickname...but in this sense, I think it's cute and fairly quaint.
I don't even mind the two with the same ending. They're solid names that I think will age well.
