Kemp
I sort of just stumbled onto this name and really like it. WDYT? It's a boys name that means "champion, athlete, warrior"
And also, because I didn't get very many responses to my "revamped boys list," I'd like to know what you think of these in particular...Kestrel
Gresham
Barrett
Jolyon
Somer
Piran

Kemp just sounds like a rather unattractive surname, imo. I usually like short, sharp names, but this one doesn't do it for me. I love Jolyon, and I like Kestral (more as a GP) and Barrett. Somer would be an okay middle name, but I wouldn't use it as a fn due to the popularity and familiarity of Summer for girls.

Howie Kemp. That was the name of Ramona Quimby's friend/neighbor. His sister was Willa Jean, the brat.I can't get behind it because that's immediately what I think of.

It's a surname, I went to school with a guy whose last name was Kemp. So it only makes me think of him. I think it feels a bit too jock-ish if used as a first name. Possibly because that's the kind of first name my classmate had.Of your other list I like Jolyon a lot, and Gresham, Somer, and Piran are nice.

Don't see myself warming up to Kemp, though the meaning is nice. First thing I thought of was "hemp".Kestrel - I've always liked this; definitely my fave of this list
Gresham - brings 'CSI' to mind
Barrett - nice enoughDont' care for the other three at all, sorry.

I'm not seeing Kemp as a first name at all. It just isn't done, and I think there is probably a good reason why not.Your list of boys' names doesn't do a thing for me. It looks like it was created for a Hunger Games knockoff.
