My eldest son is Robert and he's 26. I think it's very handsome, solid and classic name that withstands the test of time. Not fuddy-duddy at all. I think it's the best of the other bert names, which i dislike. I think that Rupert, is best for a bear.
Robert is a classic. It was extremely common for my generation. It isn't as popular now, of course, but to me it is so classic it can't ever be fuddy-duddyish. I know a Robert who is about 10, BTW.
well my dad is named Robert. I woudl not use it as a first name(not my style) It will be a mn. I think is refreshing on other chlidern. Rupert sounds too over done only the royals or the famus could get away with it
Rupert is horrible while Robert is a timeless classic. I think it works well for all ages with Robby being an adorable nickname for a little boy and then Rob/Robert as an adult.
You can't go wrong with Robert. Not fuddy-duddy at all, it's still quite popular. The youngest Robert I know is about two, RobertJames, going by R.J.Definitely not Rupert. Rupert is cartoonishly posh.
