Posy
Ok I've well and truly fallen in love with the name Posy! I think it's such a sweet little name and like it a lot with my DS's name Jasper. For me I like the fact that it's not the name of a specific flower and that I've never met or heard of a Posy here in Australia! What are everyone's opinions on Posy for a girl? It would be a full name too. And do you like it with older brother Jasper? Thanks in advance for any responses! Now to just convince DH on the name and actually have a girl in the future to use the name on!

I think it's unbearably silly. People talk about Chloe and Zoe being too childish for a grown woman. They got nothing on Posy.

Sorry, I really dislike it. Posy is babyish and twee, and I can't get past how much it reminds me of "poseur." I guess it works well enough with Jasper; they both sound old fashioned and quaint. They might sound a little too quaint together, actually. Like characters in a fable, Jasper and Posy would go hand-in-hand into the woods to be taught a lesson in humility and minding their betters. I don't get that vibe from Jasper on its own. It's like being in a set with Posy somehow diminishes it. It's possible that I dislike Posy enough that I'm not going to think it benefits any sibset. I'd rather see Jasper and Josephine.

I prefer Posy as a middle name or a nickname. It's a sweet name and it does sound well with brother, Jasper.

It is quite sweet, but it reminds me too much of 'poser' and 'posing.' I think it would be better as an occasional nickname for Josephine.

Ewww, wook at Posy! Such a sweet wittle pwincess name!Sorry, but I think it's awful. Jasper and Posy sound like characters in a Little Golden Book about dancing fairies or magic marshmallows or something.

Josephine JasperI love Posy as a nickname for Josephine. Although I prefer Jasper on a girl I think Josephine & Jasper work quite nicely together

It's one of my pet hates - strikes me as soppy, babyish, and not very befitting for a grown woman. Sorry! Each to their own.
A name I like, that's "flowery" but not the name of a specific flower, is Anthea - but it's a very far naming style from Posy
PS Jasper is great!

I'm not too keen on Posy, but I do think that it sounds great with Jasper. :)

I love the name Posy. I have thought many times about using it to honor the Josephs in my family.I think it's lovely. There are lots of nickname names floating around at the moment and I think Posy would fit in just fine. Jasper and Posy together seems quaint, but has an air of sophistication. At least that's my impression. One I like though! I would happily use it if I had a son named Jasper.Happy Persuading!

I fell in love with the name Posy not too long ago. I never thought of using it as a full name, I always imagined it as a nn for Josephine. I'm not sure how well it would age, but I think it's adorable and it works very well with Jasper!
