Leon is nice and all, and Augustus is lovely, but it can't hold a torch to Leopold. Leopold August is dashing, like some wise, bitter, cynical but charming old-style film almost-hero. I seriously love this combo.

I'd rank August Leopold second, followed by Augustus Leon and Leon Augustus. I love the "Leo" component in both names, but much prefer Leopold because my ear enjoys the long "o" sounds. The "on" sound in Leon lessons my enjoyment significantly, though I still respect the name.

I love Leoplold August! My favorite of the combos. I also thing August Leopold is handsome. I can't get into Leon at all.

I prefer Leon. The -old part of Leopold doesn't appeal to me all that much.

I don't think it would be too arrogant to use a Leo- name even though you're a Leo. Most people probably wouldn't make the connection.
