I think two syllables would be okay: Owen Stephenson, Rowan Stephenson, Nathan Stephenson. I'd avoid names like Jonathan (same number of syllables), Ian (even Stevens) and Tristan (each name would have a consonant blend making it more difficult to pronounce -- TRiSTan STephenson).

Blech, I don't especially care for any of these with the exception of Eamonn. I'm not really into boy names, but I'm sure there are more out there with two syllables.
