Ariadne
I've had the name Ariadne (pronounced ar-ee-AD-nee) on my mind recently. I like Arianna but I think Ariadne has a lot more oomph. Do you have any thoughts on it?

I love Ariadne! I know an Ariadne who is quite proud of her name, its origin, and history.

I like Ariadne over Arianna it has more history so it seems less trendy to me to hear someone using Ariadne, and you could still use nn's like Aria, or Addy.

I love Ariadne. I find it much more substantial than Arianna, which is pretty, but -ianna and -iana are so popular these days that Arianna doesn't seem all that interesting.

I like Ariana / Arianna but it is getting popular, and doesn't have that strong mythological association or "oomph" that Ariadne does.

I sort of liked Arianna while pregnant with my youngest. I find it lovely -- if a little OTT. And while I also like Ariadne (pr. ar-ee-AHD-nee), the riadne part sort of reminds me of Rodney which is a turn off. Ariadne also reminds me a little of arachnid when written. Yeah, I know it's weird, but those are my associations. I can't shake them.

I like it a lot! I do like Arianna, but Ariadne is more classy and grown up. I would use Aria as a nickname, to make it a bit more child-friendly.

I love Ariadne and vastly prefer it to Arianna, which I greatly dislike.

I like it more than Arianna.

Ariadne is rather grand, but I fear it's too much of a mouthful not to be reduced to Ari - which reminds me of Harry with a dropped H
