Albert is nice, but I love/prefer Gilbert.

My first images for these names are Prince Albert and Gilbert Godfried. Big difference, I know. I prefer Albert.

I'm partial to Gilbert because there's the nn Gil which I find to be very masculine (as opposed to Al or Bert which do absolutely nothing for me).

Yep, I'm partial. I love handsome, friendly Gilbert. I can't help but think of Gilbert Blythe and just sigh.

I do like Albert as well, but it doesn't have half Gilbert's charm. It's cold where Gilbert is warm.

I prefer Albert. I don't really like the sound of Gilbert, but it would be neat to meet a little boy named Gilbert. Interestingly enough, as far as nicknames go, I don't mind Gil, but I dislike Al; however, I don't think that either one needs a nickname.

Yes, I'm partial, because my grandfather's name is Albert and he is the sweetest man in the world. Albert, FTW.

I think Albert would have to be my favorite, though I love the nickname Gil.
