Amy is okay. It's dated in my mind. I've known several including a niece (Aimee Elisabeth).

I think Amy is wonderful, a reaaly really nice name! But yeah, feels a bit dated... :/

I've always liked the name, but don't know any Amy's at the moment. I knew of one or two in school though.

I know 3 girls in the 18-22 age range named Amy, one of them was a very close friend growing up. I think it's a sweet name.

I love Amy. I think it's so sweet. I've only known two Amys, and one Aimee. It is a little dated, but not to the extent of other names from the era like Jennifer.

I don't recall having any classmates or peers named Amy until after the fifth grade, and then finally, I met a couple of people named Amy. At my university, there seemed to be a bunch, but I've met more people named Tiffany, Stephanie, and Stacy. I've met a bunch of Stephanies.

Amy doesn't really seem dated to me, but more like Sarah and Elizabeth: so timeless as to be utterly devoid of any kind of character or interest. It isn't as annoying to me as Sarah but that isn't saying very much; just about everything is less annoying than Sarah. But it still seems like a "default" name.

I don't think it's dated. I only know one, who is 21. I live in the UK though, so maybe the trends are a little different.

I quite like it, it's kind of cute and girly but it's not frilly or too childish. I quite like it as a nickname for Amelia or Amelie.

I think Amy feels pretty dated, so it surprises me that it's popular elsewhere (like in the UK if I remember correctly). It's a sweet, upbeat little name though, so I can see the appeal of it.

I've known lots of Amys, the ones I can think of right now were born in the 60s (my aunt), 70s, or a few in the 80s I went to school with.

I've always loved Amy. It makes me think of the love triangle of Amy Robsart, Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I of England. Very romantic and historic. I also love how short and friendly it is. Overuse doesn't bother me if I really love a name. Since I associate the name with historic figures it doesn't feel dated to the 1970's at all.

I have a house guest coming in a few weeks named Amy. She's my dh's niece. She's in her twenties, maybe closer to thirty. She lives up to my vision of an Amy to a T.

I adore Amy and it's been my favorite girls name for several years now. It's a family name for me (great-great-grandmother born 1800's her name was sometimes spelled Amey) so it will hopefully be easy for me to use it.

I know it was popular at the time I was born and before but somehow like you say it just doesn't seem as popular as Tiffany, Stephanie, Stacy, Tracy, Brittany or even Renee to me. I only know one Amy who is a real Amy and one of my online friends is Amelia "Amy" (but I liked the name before meeting her).

To me it's just a gorgeous name, simple spelling, sweet meaning and a bit spunky. Love it! :)
