Aidan
What is your favorite spelling and do you think people would often spell it Aiden or Ayden (they are more common than Aidan)?
I have always really liked Aidan for a boy. I guess it's unusable now. But I might still use it as a middle name. Do you think Aidan makes an interesting middle name or is it overall just too boring?

It's become EXTREMELY boring... though I suppose if one must, it could go in the mn spot.
Aidan has been the standard anglicised spelling in England since 1852 and in Ireland since - well, not sure really, but at least 1799, which is the earliest one I can find in a 10-min search. It is a good and handsome name, I don't think it's boring and it would be fine as a middle name.
Aiden however - well, I could type whole paragraphs of cranky rant about it but basically it's stupid! and it smells of wee. So ner.

I'd keep the Aidan spelling, and I think it's beautiful and still useable. There's a reason it became popular.
Aidan isn't unusuable, it's just really popular. It would be fine as a middle name.
I would spell it Aidan. It just looks right to me. Ayden looks weird, kind of trendy and odd. Aiden is okay. I pronounce Aidan with "dan" at the end, but Aiden looks like it should be pronounced with "den" on the end, so I don't like it.

Aidan.
It's my brother's name. That's how he spells it and how the kids with the name I knew growing up spelled it. Since it became popular however people are constantly trying to spell it Aiden though "cause I have a nephew/neighbor/friend who spells it like that" which is really frustrating.

It's unobjectionable, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. I guess I prefer Aidan, if that's the original spelling. It's too popular as a first name to make an interesting middle name.
As for misspellings, my great-nephew's name is Aidan. His grandfather initially, at least, spelled his name Ayden, apparently just taking a guess at it. I'm assuming he didn't keep it up, once corrected.

I don't care for the name, but gun to my head I think I would choose Aiden.
My personal favorite spelling is Aidan. I think people would naturally spell it Aidan or Aiden. Not Ayden, which doesn't seem like a natural spelling of the name.
I think it's kind of boring even in the middle name spot, but I still like the name. Not enough to ever use it myself, but of all the rhyming names that are trending right now, this is the best.

Aidan is far and away the only spelling I like. It probably would be misspelled from time to time; like you said, it's no longer the most common spelling, and it has become like Michaela and Caitlin in that there are so many ways to spell it, it's sort of anyone's guess. I have to say, though, that as an Alison, my name has often been misspelled as Allison and (more rarely) as Alyson or Allyson, and it's not a big deal. It frustrated me some as a kid, but as an adult I don't care. I imagine an Aidan could feel the same way.
Aidan would make a great middle name. The middle spot is the perfect place to put a name you think might be too out there or too common to use as a middle name.

Aedan
I'm going to be the minority Aedan fan again (I think there was another member that liked this spelling too but I forget who). Honestly, this is the spelling I grew up with and Aidan looks slightly weird to me. Still, I would probably default on the Aidan spelling because most of the Aidans I have met spelled it like that (I think I came across one that spelled it Aedan and I was pretty happy). I would use Aedan as a first or middle name (though I have favorites above it) and granted, that spelling isn't as popular or made up like Ayden, it's a saint.

I like Aidan. I don't like any of the other spellings.
Since it's being used so much these days, I think using it as a middle name might give it more "oomph." Do eet.

I only really like Aidan. I think people would spell it Aiden or Ayden fairly often. I guess it depends on how they were first exposed to the name. I first saw it as Aidan, so anything else - especially Aiden, for some reason - looks wrong to me.
I think it makes a more interesting MN than a FN. But it's just not exciting any more!

I like Aidan as a spelling, and I think it's useable. Though my brother's MN is Eidan, because my mom wanted a little Irish heritage and a little Japanese heritage in there, alongside his Portuguese FN, and Eidan is also a Japanese name.
Aidan... just like how you typed it.
I still don't like it as a name.
