Cayden
Yeah, I know :P Most people here probably hate it. I wouldn't use it, but kind of like it. I also love Aidan. I consider Aidan and Cayden to be unusable because of the -ayden trend, but I do like them.On its own, I actually think that Cayden is a really nice name. Only when you realize that so many boys with other trendy, similar names are around it becomes kind of annoying. But I can really see how it could have appealed to me 10 or 15 years ago when it wasn't that trendy.I only like it spelled Cayden. I don't mind Caden but really hate the K versions which seem to be more common.Opinions? Have you met any?

I kind of like Caden.

As far as sound goes, I like it, but the -ayden trend makes it seem dull to me. In the U.S., Kaden ranked #119 in 2011, Kayden ranked #105, Cayden ranked #150, and Caden came in at #136. If you add up all of these spellings and include others, this name is way too popular for me to even consider.I don't check birth announcements as much as I used to, and I don't know many children, but I tend to see Kaden, Kayden, and Caden more often than Cayden. I've seen Kaden the most it seems even though Kayden is more popular than Kaden is.I don't know any anyone named Cayden (or any of the other spellings) personally, but I knew of someone with a son named Kaden who is in his teens now.

I think Cayden is a nice name. I like it. I also like Aidan, but I hate Brayden and Jayden. I do like the Caden spelling better, though. The only Cayden I know is my cousin Caden who's 4.

I like it if it's spelled Caden. It's one of my GP's.I've never met any.

I like Aidan and Hayden despite their popularity (although I'm so sick of the whole rhymes-with-Aidan trend, I wouldn't use either one). If I can mentally separate them from the rest of the herd, I can see the appeal of Jadon and Caden. For me, though, that's it. The seemingly limitless alternate spellings make my head hurt, as do inventions like Zayden and Mayden. I've reached the point where it's hard for me to figure out how many kids I've met whose names rhyme with Aidan because they're all blurring together, but I can think of several Cadens I've met:
- a girl born to a woman in my preggo group (spelled Kaidyn).
- a Caden in my son's preschool who was a little terror.
- the older half-brother of one of my son's friends; at 18, he's the oldest one I've met. I've never met them, but I know an admin in my company who has a son and stepson both named Caden and both roughly the same age. I don't know how they're spelled, but they differentiate the boys by calling them K and C.

Even if the -ayden trend didn't exist, I would see no reason for Cayden when Cade, which I love, exists. Cade is much better than Cayden. Cade is strong and masculine, while Cayden is weak and wimpy. I've never known a Cayden. Or a Cade, for that matter.

Hate the name with a passion and hate is a very strong word. That just shows my disdain of the name Cayden. Aiden is better, but even that has gotten stale. I only know one.

I love Cayden! and expecially the nickname Cade. Aidan is cute also. Both are better than the other trendy names (Brayden, Jayden, Zayden).

Aidan is lovely, and I don't consider it to be in the same class as Cayden at all.I don't like Cayden, nor Jayden, nor Zayden.

I think Aidan is a very nice name. Cayden gives me a different vibe though and I don't like it. Of all the -ayden names, Hayden and Aidan are the two I like the most. I really hate the Jayden/Cayden/Brayden crew though.

I only like the Kaden spelling. To me, the other spellings says "Hey, look at me. I like Y's and C's!". I haven't met any, but since I live in Sweden that isn't exactly weird. I like Aidan / Aiden too, but if I were to choose between Kaden, Aidan and Aiden I'd probably go with Aidan.

I quite like the sound of Cayden. If it weren't for the trendy thing, I probably wouldn't mind it too much, although there are definitely better names out there!I would spell it Caden - the K versions look harsh and even more trendy, and the Y in Cayden looks a little out of place for me.

Cayden / Caden does absolutely nothing for me, sorry. I find it the blandest of the -ayden names. Caden looks best though, and so much more masculine than Cayden for some reason. It's in the Y.I love Aidan (this spelling only) for the record. :)

Kadens I have heard about, but I don't think I've met any yet... and all are little tikes... I like it even less with a C than w/ a K... Aidan's kinda become boring as well.

I like Cayden, but prefer the spelling Caden. But I know a girl named Caden, so I probably wouldn't use it. I love the name Cade though!

Rant: I hate the Y in Cayden. To me, the name is spelled CADEN, and every other spelling is kree8yv and miss-the-mark. Spelling it Cayden is, to me, like spelling Noah "Nowah" or Jacob "Jaycob" ... the extra letter is superfluous and seems to say, "I am too dumb to pronounce this name without brute force cues, and of course, you are too." I feel the same about Aidan, which is a name that does not have any E in it, never has and never will. What the hell is "Aiden" - it looks like an error to me.Spelling it with a K makes it worse because c to k changes always look like gimmicks to me. Krispy Kreme, Keystone Kops, Kangaroo Kourt, Kamper Korner, Kool Kars, Kwik Kopy, Chicken in a Biskit .... Kayden.I think Caden is a decent modern name. It's no more trendy than Jayden or Mason or Chase or even Liam, IMO. I think it suffers less from the air of mediocrity that trendy names have, than Jayden or Chase does. Or even Madison. It's about as trendy as Hayley.I have run across one Caden at some point, but I can't remember who he was, and I know a Keiden who is age 6 (whose mother's native language is Japanese, so I'm more inclined to be okay with his spelling of it).

I actually know an American couple who lived in Jpn. when their daughter was born and gave her a Jpns. name and then when their son was born, they called him Keiden and spelt it that way so they could put kanji with it... It's actually one of those rare times the name doesn't make me go "ew".

Comparing it to Nowah or Jaycob doesn't make sense to me. As you said, Caden is trendy like Hayley. So to me using Cayden is like using Haylie, Ashlie, Bayley, Allison or Kellie. I just don't think it looks misspelled or dumb, just like a variant.
