Zelda
Lucy's_traveling_garden's post about Zelda Fitzgerald's family has me thinking about Zelda now. WDYT of Zelda? Has the Legends of Zelda game franchise made it unusable? I've never played it, but I know it's been around for decades, and I wonder if many people would assume a modern Zelda was named after the game. Some off-the-cuff Zelda combos:
Zelda Margo
Zelda Charlotte
Zelda Fern
Zelda Margaret
Zelda Rosemary
Zelda Marian
Zelda Violet
Zelda Sheridan
Zelda Suzanne
Zelda Blanche
Zelda Bonnie
Zelda Charis (or Carys)
Zelda Theodora
Zelda Tulip
Zelda VivienAny you particularly like or dislike? Any combo suggestions?

I love it and it will be a top contender I think, once I'm ready to have children (assuming my husband is on board). I associate it more with flappers and the 1920s and Zelda Fitzgerald than the video game. From your combos, I like:Zelda Margo
Zelda Fern - this is definitely my favorite, it has charm.Other ideas:
Zelda Mae
Zelda Maeve
Zelda Roxane
Zelda Temperance

I think Zelda is a great name. I think it's usable, but agree that people will think it's because of the game. I like Zelda Charlotte, Zelda Fern, Zelda Rosemary, Zelda Violet, Zelda Bonnie, Zelda Carys and Zelda Tulip.

All I think is video games. But the name is still fun nonetheless. I don't think it's unusable, but I would be prepared for a lot of people asking if she was named after the games.

You know, I was going to say I like it ok but prefer it as a pet name (it's one I considered for one of my cats) but the more I marinate on it, the more it's taking on this glitzy flapper image (very Roxie Hart in my mind). I mean, I knew who Zelda Fitzgerald was but I never gave her or her name any thought. But yeah, I'm liking it retro-chicness. I don't think the game has made it unusable. It actually makes me think of the aunt from "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" I like theseZelda Margo
Zelda Fern - would make a an adorable double name :)
Zelda Rosemary
Zelda Tulip - the flow is off but they just seem perfect for each other
Zelda Vivien - claaaaaasssY! Zelda Vivien Tulip would be spunky too :)

I love Zelda. I don't think the video game association is necessarily a bad one, since a lot of people love the game. If they think you're using it because of that, it's not a big deal.I like Zelda Rosemary and Zelda Carys.Zelda Bronwen
Zelda Louise
Zelda Mary
Zelda Ruth
Zelda Joan
Zelda June
Zelda Jane
Zelda Bryony
Zelda Lisette
Zelda Harriet
Zelda Katrin

I don't think of the video game as much as I imagine a gypsy woman with a crystal ball. But it does have a cool sound and I certainly wouldn't render it unusable. I think it's usable if the parent has a bit of a tough skin - they are the ones more likely to get looks. Sometimes I think a "crazy" name like Zelda needs something to ton it down, but I just don't see it working wth Charlotte, Margaret, Rosemary and the like.Zelda Fern is pretty rad.
Zelda Suzanne is fun to say with the repeated Zs.

I love it.I don't think Zelda is as tied to video games as Mario is - there are enough famous Zeldas out there to separate it.I really like:Zelda Marian
Zelda Violet
Zelda FernAnd might I suggest Zelda Veronica?
