My daughter, who is named Victoria nn Torrie, has an online friend, also named Victoria, whose nickname is Ria. I first heard of her about six or so months ago. I hadn't heard of that nickname before. But I don't like Ria. I really don't. I don't have a problem with Vicky, but I think Ria is terrible. Makes me think of diarrhea. I think it's a crime to take a beautiful name like Victoria and then use Ria as a nickname.
