I'm really starting to like Mariah. I don't associate it with Mariah Carey particularly because I don't like her and she's not exactly on my mind very often. I don't think it'd be a problem in real life, really, since it's a less common but not completely unheard of name. I also like the similar name Moriah, and given the way I speak they'd sound exactly the same anyway. When I was reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy I thought Moria would have made a neat name, except it's not exactly the happiest of connotations. Plus I'm not into the books enough to go naming a child after something I found in them. :-)
