Love it.
Adore it! :)
I never really thought much about this name until a few years ago. I started to like it and then it became and still is really popular. A very pretty, feminine sounding name.
I personally don't care for the name Charlotte but it's not a horrible name or anything.
Charlotte is a very lovely, very feminine name that I really enjoy.

Charlotte will be my future daugther's name, I adore this name soooo much, but sadly its becoming popular.
I wouldn't consider this name old-fashioned anymore than Sophia or Emma. It's very trendy in certain parts of the country but it's a pretty name.
Love it!

Thinking of the US, and judging by the board ... Charlotte is increasing at a rate of noughts. It's clearly going to become the next Sophia / Isabel type name. Those names should be classics but their chances are ruined now. Nothing that grows so quickly, lasts. They will be terribly dated. Instead of being Elizabeth's, they will be Deborah's - confined to a date in time. Very sad :-(
Then where I live ... Charlotte is plain tired-out. It's been overused for donkeys years, and in England, things are even worse. There are manic numbers of Charlotte's down south. (I reckon it's top 5.) I guess I'm sick of hearing it.
I agree with what Array said below. A Carlotta would be so refreshing.

It was my favorite for about 15 years. Now that I'm pregnant I'm like, gosh, it's become the yuppie Next Big Thing over the past year ... so white, so gorgeous!!!1! and so classic!!1 I don't think I can use it. Especially now that Meg Ryan did. Gag me. I still like it a lot, and I approve of it, but it is starting to seem pretty darned faddish to me, I have to admit.
I guess I should have known by looking at its place on the UK charts for the past 5-10 years.

I don't think it sounds old-fashioned, perhaps because there are so. damn. many. in my area.
I'd rather see Charlotta or Carlotta at this point--or even just Lottie on its own--than yet another Charlotte.
