I didn't know it was made up, and it surprised me that it's only in the database as a user-submitted name. I have read Stardust, though, so I guess that's why it seems so familiar. It feels so Arthurian, so reminiscent of names like Igraine and Iseult, that it feels like it should be a "real" name.
I like it, although I'd never consider using it, at least not as a first name. It probably is too closely tied to Stardust, and I'm not crazy about the "vain" bit. In any event, I'm already in love with Yvette, and if I were to use any Yv- name, that's the way I'd have to go.
