Snow
I met a little girl (probably around 7) who was named Snow today. At first I thought " thats weird" but the more I think about it the more I like it...WDYT?

SnowYuck. That reminds me of Snow from Final Fantasy XIII.And I hate that character, namely because he makes an ass of himself and still claims to be a "Hero."

Surprisingly, I find myself liking it.

SYTYCDThe first season So You Think You Can Dance America version (which I didn't watch, but later learned of) featured a dancer named Snejana Urbin. I'm not entirely sure why but she went by the nickname Snow. Honestly, I like it. It might be a little too Snow White considering how many movies featuring her are coming out/have come out.

SnejanaSnejana = apparently derived from a Slavic word meaning snowy: see this

Ah, well that makes sense. I'm guessing Snejana and Snjezana are related. I didn't look it up before I made the post.

The spelling Snežana or Snježana is correct, I assume her parents adapted it to Snejana to make it easier in English (since ž is pronounced like the French J in Jacques and there is no equivalent in English).

That's what I figured too! :)

Snezhanais also a legitimate form, and the form used in Russia (and my personal favorite!).

She did? I don't remember her going by Snow, but I know exactly who you're talking about.

Even though I think the slang is dated, it still gets used facetiously. And also 'pure as the driven snow' = virginal, and it makes me think of that. I'm not really seeing it being namey enough to appeal to me, personally. It's not horrible though. Rain, Snow, Sunshine, Storm... whatever. Also I don't care for the SN- sound in names. Or the NO sound. So the sound turns me off.

I knew a girl once who said her sister's middle name was Snow. Since her last name was White, her name would of been something like Jennifer Snow White. I thought it was tacky.

Is Snow still a drugs reference?Hate to be the one to lower the town here.

If we can have Rain\Raine, why can't we have Snow?

I love the name Snow. In my opinion it's cute, delicate, innocent and fresh.I hadn't thought about Snow as a name for a long while. Last time I did I wasn't as into nature names as I am now.I really like Snow. I like it more than the name Rain and the name Meadow. I like Snow about as much as I like the name River.

I used to like it. Now it makes me think of President Snow (Hunger Games), a very bad association. Also it makes me think of drugs (I heard snow being used as a slang term for drugs in TV series). I wish I could like it more, because I really used to, but these images have ruined it for me.
