Summer
Does this still have a nice nature image or a preppy cheerleader image? Summer is the only nature name I can think of that feels a little Brittany/Tiffany-ish, if you know what I mean. I still love it. Opinions? I'm really surprised it has never made the top 100 what do you think keeps it from being more popular? Autumn is in the top 100. Summer only made the top 100 in the late 70s in a few states.

I don't like these names that are of seasons. Summer is no exception!

I would compare Summer to Brittany, Tiffany, Amber, Nicole, Ashley...
I get a certain feeling of those names, and quite honestly I think or cheerleaders..in a bad way. That said, I know someone with these names doesn't have to be a cheerleader (of course). My name is Nicole, and I'm certainly not a cheerleader.
I don't like the name and I much prefer Winter. Or even Sommer.

I like it a lot. Even more so than Autumn. I don't know why it hasn't been more popular, just its own bad luck, I guess.
It has sort of a California cheerleader vibe to it but not a strong one.
You do have to be careful with middle names so you don't end up sounding like a Yankee Candle fragrance or a feminine hygiene product or even some new variety of vegetable or fruit, or a makeup color. No Summer Dawn, even though that does seem to be fairly common; no Summer Rose, Summer Brooke, Summer Skye or Summer Joy even.

Hahaha I know a Summer Joy and a Summer Sky but Summer Sky is a horse and gets called Sammy. I agree about the middle names!
I adore Summer, i think it's beautiful, and don't see a cheerleader image AT ALL, surprises me that you even mentioned it as it never crossed my mind.
It doesn't have a preppy cheerleader image for me. I guess it has a a nice nature image, though I've never even given it that much thought, I just love the sound of it. I have no idea why it isn't more popular, I think it sounds much more beautiful than Autumn.
Seasonal Names and Personal Opinions
I like season names. They sound very pleasant.
Spring - I usually think of a cheerful girl who enjoys the outdoors tremendously.
Summer - I usually think of an overly exstatic girl who enjoys being active, along with being with other people.
Autumn - I usually think of a quiet, self-absorbed girl who likes quiet activities in almost any setting.
Winter - I usually think of a bright-hearted girl who enjoys the snow.
