Thoughts on Maxima?
A friend of mine (who is Goth / Pagan) is having another little girl. He has Raven Marlys (mom is Marlys) and Inara Lenore. When they discovered they were pregnant they decided on the name Max...only to discover it was a girl. They didn't like Maxine and were thinking of using Miranda Onyx / Miranda Xypher for a girl - and then asked me for my suggestion. I suggested Maxima, which I really like. Wdyt of Maxima and WDYT of the sib set Raven, Inara and Maxima?

I like Maxima as a middle name...
Provided the first name is Nissan.
The whole sibset is so predictably and self-consciously goth it makes me tired.

Yes
but it could be SO much worse. :-D It looks like they're going to go with Miranda Onyx instead of Maxima - and Raven, Miranda and Inara are all pretty decent names. It's not like they're Eternity, Black Rose, Lilith Raven, etc. They match the lifestyle without making it especially difficult for the kids if they become preppy.

Maxima sounds kinda strange to me. I wouldn't use it at all. It's possible, but not overly appealing.

There's a princess in the Netherlands named Maxima. I like it and I'd like to think that it's usable despite the possible fat jokes, but I might be being naive. I really like Max as a nickname and I think it goes well with Raven and Inara.
Well...to be honest, I think it opens the door for a lot of stupid fat jokes. You know, "gluteus maximus", and all that.
