It's beautiful, and not too 70s. I like Sonia the best. I also like Sonja. Sonya looks kind of clunky to me, but it's decent.

I like Sonia too! But my favourite spelling is Sonya.

Sonia is nice. I don't think of it as dated. As you probably know, it can be a nickname for Sophia.

I like Sonia and Sonya. I feel that Sonja would be too difficult for people to pronounce where I live. There's a little toddler named Sonya at the daycare I work at and it works quite well on a girl today, I think. I would consider it for my own child but it probably wouldn't make my short list.

I like it, I think it is cute and sweet! I like the Sonya spelling bettest!

I like Sonja best, but prefere Sanja (same with Tonja - Tanja, Dunja - Danja, etc.).

It's more 1980s dated here and I can't remember seeing it in any recent BAs.

Was Sonia popular in the 1970's? I never knew that. Perhaps it was influenced by the actress Sonia Braga. Anyway, I'm glad because I've always thought it was an underappreciated gem. :-)

I know a woman who named her dd Sonia (or Sonya) in the 1980's and used Sunny as a nn.

I have a friend called Sonja. We've known almost all our lives. I like both the girl and her name. :) Sonja is a beautiful name with lovely meaning, it's soft but definitely not weak. It's also my preferred version. Sonia comes next, then Sonya.

It's not my style. I don't like the sound of it. If I had to choose a spelling, I'd go with Sonia.
