wdyt of Ashtyn? I know a bunch of ppl are going to say that the spelling is "trendy/tryndee" but I pronounce Ashton and Ashtyn differently (Ash-ton vs. Ash-tin).

Generally I don't like changing of spellings with Y. It is usually done to make the name look more feminine but people don't change the spelling, so it still sounds like a male name (Jordan-Jordyn).Rule of thumb: If you have to change the spelling to make the name female, don't take this name.And I think people would pronounce Ashtyn just as Ashton, thinking it was just a creative or feminized spelling."But it’s all right now.

I think most names with "ton" sound dreadful, as if you're addressing someone by their surname. So that's why I don't like Ashton, whether boy or girl.The spelling Ashtyn looks tacky to me. I quite like Y's, but in a name already so trendy, it just looks bad._____________________________________________________________________Elinor
