I like quite a few surnames as first names, but Fisher is too surname-y for me. It's not quite like being named Jones or Smith, but I've known enough people with the last name Fisher that it almost seems that way to me.

Dove works well as a middle name. It works as a first name, but I prefer it as a middle name. Rosemary Dove has a great flow. I also like Amelia Dove.
