I like both Joanna and Johanna. I prefer Joanna a tad more, but not by much. I definitely prefer Johanna over Johannah. Johannah looks strangely cluttered with letters. I'm not sure why, since I don't think Hannah looks so overwrought and Jo, of course, is as simple as can be.
Would you pronounce Johannah like Jo+Hannah or like Joanna?
Neither, really. I pronounce Hannah like HAN-ɘ, but jo-HAHN-ɘ would be my first impulse for both Johannah and Johanna. I sometimes work with a Johanna, and that's how she pronounces it, so I'm used to it. jo-HAN-ɘ would be my second guess (although I don't think it's nearly as pretty), and I'd never pronounce it like Joanna unless told to.
