For a full name, I like Taya. I was in love with Taya for a long time, but then I found Mattea and love that even more. Mattea, nickname Tea.

Instinctively I wouldn't pronounce Tea and Taya the same. Taya is TY-a to me and Tea, I don't know, I don't like the fact that it's the same as the word but pronounced differently. Will kids tease her and call her Tee instead?
Téa is much better but I guess there could be problems with the accent. There's a risk that people would use an apostrophe instead of an accent and I find that absolutely intolerable. Te'a? No, no, NO!

My favorite is Teia. I think it's pretty and would go very well with Javan. Teia and Javan. I like it. Simple but unsual.

As for liking it, I'm not sure what the name means, so I don't have a definite tipping point 1 way or the other on it so far..

I only like Tea as a nn for Mattea, it just has a nicknamey feel to me, like it's not substantial enough to be a stand alone name.
I definitely prefer the spelling Tea over Taya, and I pronounce them the same.

I agree with what Lily said about the Tea spelling immediately calling to mind the word and also that no matter how you spell it, you'll have to clarify. However, I don't think either of those things should stop you from using the name. I have had to spell my name for everyone my whole life and now that I use my MN, I have to spell that, too. With Keilees and Xaydyns being the norm now, lots of people have to spell their names constantly.

I like the spelling Téa best, because most people will know how to pronounce the acute-accented E (I think) and it's clean and simplified. Taya isn't bad, but I'd just be afraid that it'd blend in too much with all the other names with "ay" sounds/spellings that are mega-popular, whereas Téa has a distinctive look. I'm not usually big on short names, but I do think it's pretty and not overused.

I like it. It looks like the word 'tea', though. I'd probably go with Teia or Theia (check out the cool meaning). Theia looks best to me. Téa and Thea work too. Taya is cute but I'd pronounce it TAH-ya or TY-ah.

this is how I think most people would pronounce them. But I think you could also use Thea for TAY-ah. No matter how you spell it you'll have some explaining to do.
