Cyan
for a guy. What do you think? I liked it for a girl a while back but think it would make a really nice boys name. Opinions?Do you pronounce it SY-ehn or SY-anne, sy-ANNE? I think SY-ehn is correct but just to make sure...Too girly?

I can't even imagine it for a girl, it's totally masculine to me. Because my first experience with it as a name (or even a word at all, because I was like 8) is from the character in Final Fantasy III(/VI). I remember learning about light in 5th grade and that cyan was a color and I was like, ohhhhh. So anyway, I like it for a boy. It's pronounced like sy-ANNE, never heard it said any other way. Here's the character I'm talking about so you can see the picture I have in my head from it: (pictures I could find were giant, so here's just a wiki link)

I think that it is better for a girl.

I don't mind Cyan, but would never use it myself. I think it's fine for either gender. I say sy-ANNE.

I don't like Cyan as a name. Although it does look like the Irish name Cian, which is more usable (though Cian has a differnet pronounciation).

I love it! I really ADORE the nn Cy though so that might have something to do with it, plus I love color names :) I pronounce it with stress on both syllable - "sy-ann" - I'm not sure if that's correct but there's a Sian in my town who pronounced his name the same way so I'm just accustomed to that

Does he have a sister named Magenta? It makes me think of printing, to be honest. I wouldn't say it's too feminine, however, though I wouldn't consider that a problem. Nevertheless, I'm not a big fan.I use the last pronunciation ... [saɪæn].

Personally, I think Magenta would go better with Blue.Because those were the two dogs on Blue's Clues! XDMaybe if Beyonce has another daughter, she should name her Magenta.
