Rosa or Rosalie?
Following on from the discussion about Rose and Rosalie, what do you think of the relative merits of Rosa and Rosalie? Ok, you can always shorten Rosalie to Rosa if you want, but in a straight choice which one do you prefer?
It strikes me that Rosalie is very feminine and pretty, whereas Rosa is a bit stronger ...

I LOVE Rose, and like Rosalie a lot! Rosa doesn't have the same charm to me, I guess... So, the winner for me is Rosalie :)

I prefer Rosa. I know it isn't one of the choices, but I love Rosalia.
Isn't there also a name Rosalia? Ah, yes, there...patron saint of some Sicilian city...

I like Rosa better. Rosalie seems too easy to me, if that makes any sense; it's one that everyone's all over, which puts me off. Rosa has, for too long, been relegated to the grouchy Hispanic maid in movies; it's so much cooler than that.
Plus, Rosalie reminds me of Flora Baumbach's "mongoloid child," and that's a sad association.

The dogs on main street howl
`Cause they understand
If I could take one moment into my hands
Mister, I ain't a boy--no I'm a man,
And I believe in a promised land.

Rosalie. Rosalie and Roslyn/Roselyn are the only Rose names I like. I don't mind Rose as a mn though. :)
