Meredith is the only name I've ever preemptivly "claimed" (I'm still embarrassed--I don't actually believe you should be able to call dibs on a name, but I did it anyway). I warned my brother off it when my SIL was expecting my niece 4 years ago. It was my number one girl name at the time. I can still see myself using it. I love it, and I get the same feel from it as you do.
My combo at the time was Meredith Ava. I've cooled on Ava, so I'm not sure if I'd use it today.
