Lucille
I've always had a soft spot for it and at the moment I really love Lucille. I also kind of like Lucille and Elaine for sisters. Another sister would be Bay. Lucille, Elaine and Bay :P I guess Bay sticks out a little, but I love it.Opinions? Too old fashioned? I'm not a big fan of Lucy, would a Lucille get called Lucy a lot?

Like Lucille, but not Elaine. Since it's only 2 syls, you may be able to get away with insisting on only Lucille and not Lucy. (I prefer Lucille as well)

I personally LOVE the name Lucy, so I also think Lucille is very sweet. If Lucille wanted to be called by her full name, she will probably have to tell people that, otherwise I do think she would get called Lucy. Not a fan of Elaine at all and you're right, Bay sticks out like a sore thumb when paired with the other names! Have you thought about Lucille Bay as a combo?

I love Lucille! It was my great g'mas name and I know my SO likes it so it could be in serious consideration when the time comes to name actual children, lol. I personally like the nn Lucie but I also love "Cille" and "Lu." I think Lucille is more likely to get shortened to Lu, actually, but it would also be possible to get away with no NN if insisted upon

I like Lucille, I think it's a very lovely name.
I don't think the Lucille Ball connection people are making is a negative thing either.
I also like Elaine, and the sibset Lucille and Elaine.
I think Bay is very interesting. I've never heard of anyone with the name Bay, therefore I haven't been able to put much thought into how I feel about it; I think I like it though.
Bay definitely sticks out, but perhaps it's worth it to you.
Lucille being called Lucy is definitely a possibility. Lucille growing up and wanting to be called Lucy is also a possibility.
A little 3rd grade girl named Lucy may fit in better than one named Lucille. You know?

you picked a fine time to leave me, LucilleFour hungry children and a crop in the field...Actually I like Lucille a lot better than Lucy. I cannot stan the name Lucy, it's a name for a poodle or a crazy aunt hidden away in the attic.I think the chances of Lucille getting called Lucy are probably about even, but she probably won't have to spend too much time correcting before people get the idea.Lucille and Elaine go well together. Bay sticks out a mile, and I don't like it anyway, it's not a name to me.

What the hell is with subject "quotes" like that?I don't get those stupid lines in the subject section. Seriously, it's crazy.

it's the lyrics to a song called "Lucille"By Kenny Rogers. It is a very well-known song. I'm sorry if it confused you. Next time, just ask nicely instead of throwing a fit and calling the subject line stupid, what do you say?

It doesn't look crazy to me, because I think of that song when I hear the name Lucille too. I guess if you have not ever heard of the song (which was a hit in the 1970s), you would think it looks crazy.

lol the crazy aunt's name is Ruby ;) but yeah I don't really like Lucy either. I used to hate it, it just grew on me a little bit.

no, Ruby...Is the crazy lady that lives down the block who always goes around fishing things out of people's trash cans to wear or decorate her house with, and she swipes newspapers if people don't come out and get them early enough, and she chases kids off her yard with a broom.

I adore Lucille, and Elaine & Lucille is a magnificently retro sibset. I think Lucy is avoidable if you emphasize that your daughter's name is Lucille and not to be reduced to Lucy.

It's pretty old fashioned. Like Howard and Walter and Patricia. It's my mn, honoring an aunt who was born in the 20's, so yes, I'm nearly ancient, too, and while I was growing up I hid the fact that this was my mn, I was embarrassed. And then there was comedian Lucille Ball, I think a love/hate kid of situation. She often riffed on women's roles by being really ditzy, so that kind of blew Lucille as a name for future scholars, justices, etc., if you're into that kind of litmus test for names. But you're onto something. Lucy, Lucienne, Lucia: why not Lucille?I'm with you on Elaine, as well. I love it and prefer it to Lane. Not sure that Bay goes with them in the least bit, style-wise, but I can see where you're going sound-wise.

Don't be embarrassed, you're so lucky! I'd love to have such a cool middle name. Mine is Elsa which is kind of similar in style. I always picture a Lucille as being extremely intelligent. Kind of like Hermione from Harry Potter. I don't really know who Lucille Ball is, though. I mean I've heard of her but I don't even know what she looks like. I also think of a silent movie star. Old Hollywood glamour. I don't know to me it's just a very intelligent/glamorous kind of name :P

Lucille Ball was an obnoxious sitcom star. Think Fran Drescher but in black and white. She was whinny and spoiled.
