Re: Meadow
in reply to a message by Lily
Like I said in my response to your favorites list, I ran into a five- or six-year-old Meadow on Friday whose mom was addressing her as Meadow. I was surprised at how patchouli-scented it didn't seem. It just seems like another modern nature name. Like Rain and River and Autumn, only somehow it seems less of a standout than those. I did not expect that. I thought it was over the top, until I heard it used. Maybe I'm getting jaded from being around young children all the time, and unique names have become so common.I still think it might sound too childlike for a grown woman. The image evoked is one of innocence. It's ... you know, pastoral? haha. Not very complex. That's most of why I'm not a fan of it. The other problem I have with it is that I think of cow patties. But that's only when I consider the name without a person attached to it.
