I'd spell cah-RIN-ya: Carinnia, Carynnia, maybe Carenya (I don't like the -ya spelling at the end too much, it makes me want to say that sound too harshly). It reminds me most of Corinne or Carina rather than Karen. If I was going to use it, I would choose which name I'd like it based on, and alter the spelling accordingly. I think the -ya works best when there's no I in the name.

I hate Carrynia, because I hate Carine... I like Alina, but Alana is better...

I think they both sound very pretty. I would change the spelling of Carrinya to Carinya, Carenya or Karinya. I like the spelling Alina or you could spell it Alena.
