Thoughts on Greta?
Replies
I used to think the sounds were a bit harsh, but I've warmed to Greta and now see her as rather sweet. Haven't tried pairing her, and I'm not sure how your tastes run, but here's a smattering of ideas...
Greta Blythe
Greta Constance
Greta Dorothy
Greta Sylvie
Greta Suzanne
Greta Caroline
Greta Violet
Greta Joy
Greta Phoebe
Greta Naomi
Greta Tuesday ("t"s may be a bit close but I kind of like the feel of this)
Greta Marlo (Marlo's not in the db and I'm really not familiar with her but she's bugging me)

Aw, Greta is such a sweet name. It reminds me of evergreen trees, mountains, and Christmastime -- I usually don't like red and green together, but it's so pleasant and homely (in a positive sense) here. It's quite lively, too (more than Margaret, in my opinion). I think it'll age well, too -- I can picture Greta on a little girl or an old grandmother.
Greta is also the highest-ranked feminine name on my PNL (77% with 23 votes). I can't find anything I dislike about it. What pronunciation are you using? I personally say gree-tah, but greh-tah is nice as well.
