Thoughts on Timothy
WDYT. I've been thinking about it a lot. I like it but I think I would like it more if it wasn't my dad's name. So thoughts?

I actually like the name Timothy. It's a good solid name and even the nn doesn't annoy me. I give it a thumbs up.

I like it, and I very much like Tim. It seems pretty timeless to me.

I really like it. I never thought much of it until recently. I used to think it just sort of blah and maybe a bit immature feeling, but I think I started liking it a year or so ago when I realized the bass player at church is named Tim. He makes a good Tim(othy), it sort of started changing my perspective of it. I group it with the nice guy names now, like Douglas and Andrew and Jonathan.

Hate it. Straight up. I have enough nice associations, I just hate the sound. I don't mind Tim at all but Timothy in full has always just sounded too weak and meek to me. Upon hearing the name I can't picture anything but a weezing, underweight, pre-teen boy in suspenders, with broken glasses and a snotty handkerchief

Timothy is a nice nameWell-used but timeless. Tim is a nice, friendly, comfortable nn.
However I don't like Timmy at all. Ick. Timmy, Tommy and Little Johnny, they're the three gap-toothed little boy-next-doors who are always falling down wells or out of trees or setting their shoes on fire or getting lost at the rodeo.
