It makes me think of death... like morbid, moribund, pro patria mori, etc.

I think it's a lovely name and not popular at all here in Australia. I've never met anyone with this name.

I kinda like it and particularly like the fact that unlike Maria and similar Mary names, it doesn't have the possible "bitterness" meaning at its roots... Plus it sounds nice.

I really like it. I know one Moriah and she is a sweet girl who is very family oriented.

I think of the biblical Mount Moriah, but maybe that's too obscure for most. I've never met a Moriah and I certainly don't feel like it's on the verge of trendiness. I'd say it feels a little....flaky, maybe? Like Mariah and Shania. Only a few steps away from Destiny and Trinity, somehow.
Anyhow, it's okay. Kind of meh.
I would like the nickname "Mo" though!
