Leah, by far.

Leah. Simple. Pretty.Liliana is too flowery and way too trendy sounding.

Leah...by a mile.

Leah.

Liliana, definitely.

Overall, I prefer Leah, however, I prefer Liliana with your children's names.

I tend to vacillate on both of these names. Right now I prefer Liliana - as other posters have said, it's got a lot of nickname options, and that's a good thing. It's frilly, but the nns aren't. I've been kind of disliking Leah lately, mainly for the sound, but the meaning and the Bible story are unfortunate too.

Leah.

I prefer Liliana... primarily because of meaning... though I also prefer the sound. (Leah sounds ok. It's just the meaning that's unfortunate.)

I like both, but I'd go with Leah because it's less frilly.

Liliana but I'd always call her Lily. I think it's a bit trashy but not that bad. Leah I always thought was awful, especially the Bible story and meaning.

How is Liliana trashy? It's a lovely Spanish name.

Uhm this is my opinion!? Spanish names can be trashy too and what is lovely to you doesn't have to be lovely to others. I just think it is, there is something so insubstantial about it. Maybe it's because it is Lily+Ana (even though it's actually elaborated from Lillian). Maybe it's because I know one who is a golddigger. I'm not sure it just seems like a recent trendy invention (putting popular sounds together) even though it's not. I think it will be very dated and there will be lots of girls with similar names around.I know I should be quiet because I like lots of trendy names, but I just dislike this one. You asked for my opinion and I gave it to you.

That's fine. I wasn't trying to be rude, I was just wondering, that's all.

I don't think it's a horrible name or anything. I just have bad associations with it. I bet many people would actually like to have this name. Sorry if I was rude.

she also asked for you not to be harsh. :)

Is trashy harsh? Sorry :( I didn't mean it was a bad name in general, just that I have bad associations with it. I'm sure many people would like to be called Liliana.

I prefer Liliana. It's a bit frilly, but I still think it's nice and I love that you have a choice of nicknames (Lily, Lila, Lilia, Ana...)Leah is a fine name, I certainly wouldn't be upset to see a baby called Leah, but I just don't think it's as nice as Liliana. I think it's the "lee" sound which I find a little harsh.

Liliana definitely. Don't like Leah at all.:)

I'm not a fan of either of them; however, if you went for Liliana you could comfortably use Leah as a shortened form, so both parents would win.If it was me, I 'd go for Leah anyway because it's shorter and less frilly. But the potential for variety is always good.

I love both, but I'll go with Liliana because you could always call her Lia! :D

Definitely Leah.

Liliana. It's a GP of mine, but I don't like Lily so she would be Liliana with no NN.

I like both names... I would need to flip a coin to decide. Leah... but it's just me being a bit indecisive when I like the names almost equally.

Leah :) It's pretty and gentle and just seems more down-to-earth than Liliana.

Leah.I think partially it is because I know some really wonderful ladies named Leah, and as I child this was one of my favorite names. I would love to see it paired with a longer middle name though.Liliana is alright, it's not bad, at all, just not for me. :)
