Nickname for Jeremiah
What's a good nickname for Jeremiah. I know it really doesn't need one, but I just wanted to see if there are any good ones out there.

Jer?
I'd naturally just use the first syllable. Jer (to rhyme with "air").

Remy
Jem
In the Outlander books there's a character named Jeremiah nn Jem. I love Jem as a nn for James, but it definitely can work for Jeremiah too.
And I don't like it, but I went to school with a Jeremiah who got called Miah. The other two I've known didn't use a nickname.

Ha! If you hadn't mentioned the Outlander series, I was going to..I remember that you are a fan, as I am.
Jerry seems to be the obvious one although I've never liked it. I did used to know a family with a ds named Jeremiah and they called him Miah which I'm not feeling either due to the feminine name, Maia / Maya. I read a novel once where the hero was called Jem as a nn. That could work. It does feel a tad feminine to me, however. Remy would be perfect, imo. WDYT?
I'm not a fan of Jerry, either. Sounds too much like a man in his 40's, not a child.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Best of luck!
