Charlotte

It's ok, but kind of boring and overused right now... That said, I'd rather encounter another little Charlotte (or Scarlett... either is ok... popularities have me leaning more towards Scarlett than Charlotte though)
Possible Sibs?
Edward
Albert / Alberta
Catherine
Laurence
Austin
Arthur
Victoria
Nicola
Vernon
Ok... jk... Those are Cdn. place name references because of Charlottetown... though Edward would prob'ly fit quite nicely.
I have a pretty wide and ecclectic imagination with stuff like this... (will add Jpns. if requested, but will leave them out of the list for now).
Possibilities for sisters:
Esmee
Esperanza
Jolene
Christa / Krista
Dominique
Dominga
Joanna / Johanna / Johanneke
Jasmine
Kendra
Trudne
Verity
Amity
Bronwyn
Kelsey
Janelle
Roxanne
Roxana
Elizabeth
Elisa
Alexandra / Alejandra
Erika / Erica
Abigail
Nadia

Nameberry just declared this the #1 girl name for the year, based on how many people conducted a search for Charlotte on their website. So it's more than usable on a newborn, it will most likely be in the top 10 for 2012.
I like it. It was on the table when I named my daughter. It just wasn't comfy for me - seemed stuckup somehow. Probably because I think it should be said with an "ot" sound like the word "not," but I have to force myself to do that ... it comes out Charl't when I say it naturally.
So yeah, it is definitely usable and I think of it as being in the 'yuppie-revived unbiblical classics' category right along with Olivia, Sophia, Natalie, Audrey, Jocelyn. Brothers would be Henry, Liam, Owen, Julian, Anthony.
I like Scarlett, but I think it is fashionable in a more trendy way, a less conservative way - like Lily and Ava and Mia and Stella. I'm more comfortable with Scarlett, but I would be more likely to use Charlotte just because Scarlett seems bold/sensual in a way that an offspring of ours doesn't seem likely to pull off well. haha

I like it, but mostly as a middle name. I do like it as a fn on the right person though.
I like Scarlet better than Scarlett and Charlotte. Between Scarlett and Charlotte I don't know what I'd pick... they're so different... Charlotte if I was in a calm mood and Scarlett is I wanted something dramatic.
I could see brothers and sisters with names like...
William, Ophelia, Morwenna, Anna, Siobhan, Sebastian, Lucasta, Sylvie, Dorian, Rhiannon, Lucia, Rosemary, Francis, Galadriel, Anneliese, Eloise, Morgan (boy)
There are a few categories of names that go well with Charlotte. Old-fashioned names (but not popular or obviously biblical), soft names, calm names, flowy/lacy names, names that remind me of dusty flowers, etc...

I like Charlotte, although I wouldn't use it myself as I don't like the nickname Charlie for a girl. It's definitely useable on a newborn - it is in the top 50 in the UK, US, Canada, France and lots of other countries, so lots of people are using it on newborns.
I definitely prefer Charlotte over Scarlett.

I used to like Charlotte, but I'm over it. It's definitely usable on a newborn, it's in the top 100 now.
I guess I like Charlotte better than Scarlett anyway.
