It was popular when I was growing up, and it was something of a "cheerleader" name, but I still think it's pretty and fresh. It's sunflower-colored, in my mind.I have no idea if little girls named Brooklyn are called Brooke, but they might be. I think people would want to call them by that trendy -lyn sound, though, so the NN might not be as common as you think.
