Ardelia
I'd pronunce it ar-DEEL-yah, just as it looks. Yes or no to the name? What do you picture when you hear it?Array (who isn't telling where she got Ardelia in hopes of finding out if it's too linked to the source material)

Yes to the name.
It sounds like a combo of Arden and Cordelia. Like an ardent Cordelia. I pretty much picture a similar looking person as I do of Cordelia, celtic with long black hair and greenish eyes.
It seems like a name from Arthurian mythology or created in the 1900'th century when said mythology was popular again.

Yes. It's like Cordelia but gets more sunshine. Sounds "old fashioned." Fits really well with the name Clarice, it seems. I would never have remembered the name from SotL - it's too obscure.- chazda

The problem is that i think poeple on a day to day basis would have a hard time saying it correctly until the one with the name said it.
I see a girl that is very misterious.

Its cute...But something about it sounds really familiar. Can't put my finger on it.

I quite like it. I picture a dark haired girl, with either green or brown eyes. But now I also know where you got Ardelia from... "The Silence Of the Lambs", where "Ardelia Mapp" is Clarice's room mate, and best friend, while at the FBI academy. Yeah I love that movie. :-D I know what you said, but don't worry. I don't think that Ardelia will be linked to that movie. Just my opinion.

And it's Charlie Blue for the win!Yep, that's where I got it. I didn't think it'd be all that linked, since she has a small part in the film, but the book is pretty much a classic in its genre--and that was what worried me.However, considering that I love Clarisse thanks to Clarice Starling, I'm not sure why I even care, lol.Array

*Bows*I wanted to add the thing with the novel also, but I forgot it in my haste typing before.Btw... I got to really like Clarice because of that movie years ago. And I remember thinking that "Ardelia sure was an interesting name" then. (I adore the spelling Calleigh, of Caleigh, only because of character "Calleigh Duquesne" of "CSI: Miami". So I am as guilty as charged as you are, when it comes to Clarisse of Clarice in that degree. Lol!)

never heard it before (so as far as I'm concerned the link to the source remains hidden :P).
I picture this as a name for a woman, not a girl. It reminds me of Cordelia and I can't say I like it, it's ok but no more than that.
