Marcia
This name has been growing on me recently. I think it'd be a cool way of honouring my dad, Mark. I realize people from my parents' generation will immediately think of the Brady Bunch, but the association doesn't bother me at all. Anyway, it isn't an issue with my generation, so I don't see why it'd be an issue for any hypothetical future children. So, WDYT?

Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!I'm sorry, but "The Brady Bunch" is all I can think of when hearing this name. No other name from that show does that to me (Jan, Cindy, Greg, Peter, etc.), but I can't shake the Marcia image out of my head...

I like it a lot. I've known two (one Jamaican-background-black English, one fairly-posh-white English) and they've both pronounced it more like Marse-ya than Marsha - perhaps that's a UK thing? - don't mind either pronunciation, it's all good.

The marsh sound just puts me off. Marcella would be better, imo.

I've always liked Marcia. It has a sturdy, mid-century feel that really appeals to me, but, at the same time, I don't think it feels out of place next to today's names. I don't think the Brady Bunch is a big deal either, but then I like Greg, so what do I know?

My mom's name is Marcia, but she goes by Marcy. She hates it. I'm not a fan either, sorry. I agree with the pp who suggested Marcella as an alternative. Much nicer, I think. :)

I like it. I wouldn't mind being a Marcia at any age. I'd rather be Marcia than Marsha. Although I like Marsha, it reminds me more of the Brady Bunch, and it also reminds me more of Marshall than it does of Marcus. Marcia evokes Marcus well... better than Marcella IMO. Ideally I'd want to pronounce it with three syllables, MAR-see-a. But I doubt I actually would, since that'd be pretty impractical.

I like Marcia. It is regal and tough at the same time. And I like it as a way to honour a Mark! I am pretty sure that it would be misspelled as Marsha all the time though, which is too bad.

Not a faneven though we've got Ms' Cross & Gay Harden! I think Marka or Marketa would honour your dad better
