I pronounce it like you do, joo-lee-AH-na. But I prefer Julia by far. I think Julia is classic and timeless, always in fashion. The elaboration of Juliana is unnecessary and overly-frilly for me. What about Juliet and Julie? They are usually considered along with Julia and Juliana. Personally, I love Juliet and I constantly go back and forth on which I like more, Julia or Juliet. Julie, on the other hand, I don't really care for because it seems slightly dated.
